Second Wind: The Offshore Wind Sector in Ireland.

In a half day industry workshop, the emerging offshore wind sector in Ireland converged to discuss and debate the potential value of offshore wind to Ireland Inc.

Speakers and panellists represented the wealth of expertise that exists not just in Ireland but also in Scotland. The aim of the day was to share common challenges and find mutually beneficial solutions that will allow Ireland to harness the market opportunities of offshore wind.

Attendees heard from a range of speakers and panellists highlighting the forthcoming scale of Ireland’s offshore wind potential, the potential of other sectors such as data centres and the experiences of existing suppliers across the supply chain.  

Of note to Causeway members is the commonality of challenges and opportunities between Scotland and Ireland.

Market leader Mainstream RP  showcased their learnings from Scottish offshore windfarm Neart na Gaoithe and applications in further projects; Causeway member and host Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions highlighted their experiences from projects and how they could support the future of offshore wind in Ireland.

To support this, Causeway Director Eugene Mullan announced the expansion of Causeway’s presence in Ireland , showcasing the scope for collaboration on both sides of the Irish Sea and Causeway's significant role in supporting these efforts.
