Colm Moloney Appointed Causeway Ambassador

Causeway: Ireland Scotland Business Exchange is pleased to announce the appointment of Colm Moloney as a Causeway Ambassador.

The role of Causeway Ambassador is to actively support the objectives and goals of Causeway and to act as champions and figureheads for Causeway, helping to raise its profile and grow membership across Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland.

Colm was one of the founders of the Causeway network, and has been involved with the membership networking organisation since it launched at Edinburgh Castle in 2016 and was the first chair of the not-for-profit membership organisation until 2018.

He has been involved in business development in the UK and Ireland for 25 years with most of that time working between Cork, Dublin and Edinburgh. He is a graduate of University College Cork and The University of Leicester and has been a company director in the UK and Ireland since 1997.

Colm is the CEO of Red River Archaeology Group Ltd, the parent company of two trading companies Rubicon Heritage Services Ltd, a company registered in the Republic of Ireland and Red River Archaeology Ltd, a company registered in Scotland. As such, he has extensive experience of exporting services in both directions across the Irish Sea.

The Red River Group currently employs over 100 archaeologists and support staff through offices in Cork, Dublin, Edinburgh and Cardiff and provides archaeological support and services on a broad range of developments with a strong focus on infrastructure, notably HS2 at the time of writing. Through these activities Rubicon and Red River are integral to the supply chains in sectors such as Roads and Rail, Housing, Renewable Energy and many more. This position provides a broad insight into the activities of numerous business sectors in the geographical area covered by Causeway.

Colm is the author of numerous academic and popular publications on archaeology in Scotland and Ireland. Colm is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists and a Member of the Institute of Archaeologists of Ireland.

Commenting on taking up the Ambassador role, Colm said:

“I experienced the challenges of exporting services between Scotland and Ireland for several years prior to the formation of Causeway. Causeway brought like-minded business people together to overcome some of the challenges of breaking into a new market and made the whole process both easier and a hell of lot more enjoyable!

“As a founding member of Causeway I feel it is an honour to become an Ambassador and look forward to welcoming new members and assisting them with building new business relationships.”
