Causeway: Ireland Scotland Business Exchange, the membership organisation supported by both the Irish and Scottish Governments, has announced two new appointments as it embarks on its launch into Northern Ireland later this month.
Gráinne McMenamin has become Executive Director while Judith O’Leary joins the Board of Directors.
A founding committee member of Causeway, and formerly their Events & Exchange Manager, Gráinne’s drive, ambition and skillset will help Causeway continue its growth as a well-respected and subscribed membership-based business to business platform.
She has extensive global experience in senior marketing, management and business development positions across various sectors including telecoms and advertising. She holds a BA in Psychology (Hons) from University College Dublin, and an MBA in Marketing from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. Grainne set up her own marketing and business development consultancy several years ago with a strong focus on commercialising university spin out companies.
Joining the Board, Judith, Managing Director of Edinburgh-based PR Represent, has been involved with Causeway as a committee member since early 2017 and brings with her a wealth of PR and communications expertise across sectors including education, food & drink, FinTech and professional services. Her role will be to develop the communications strategy for the organisation as well as coordinating the marketing communications function across the organisation’s three committees in Dublin, Edinburgh and Belfast.
A not-for-profit membership organisation, Causeway facilitates the sharing of business contacts and ideas that allow members to thrive in their sectors on both sides of the Irish sea through a series of events, networking opportunities and introductions.
Speaking of her appointment, Gráinne said: “I am delighted to be extending my role with Causeway as Executive Director. In a challenging time for businesses, particularly in Ireland, Scotland and Northern Ireland, Causeway is more important than ever. We will continue to provide a platform for peer business support and open up new opportunities for businesses wishing to expand their reach across the Irish Sea. The organisation has achieved significant success since its launch and I look forward to continuing to drive this forward and positively impacting our members.”
Judith added: “Having seen Causeway’s growth and success in the last 12 months, I am delighted to become a Board Member and I look forward to working with the other committee members and directors to ensure our members continue to achieve fantastic things.”
Membership at Causeway is open to businesses looking to gain stronger connections in Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland. Further information can be found at https://www.causewayexchange.net/
